I have seen how many people place their trust in many different things. It is as if we are always looking for a ‘sure thing’ to grab hold of and then we can or will relax. In the process, confidence and trust is placed in different places, many of which offer little security. What we need to do is to continually shift our trust back to the One who can be completely trusted. We have a Rock of Ages on whom we can depend. This is the one sure thing that we long for.
There are so many different things in life in which we place our trust. Some people place their trust in others. They believe that other people can be completely trusted. Another place in which we place our trust is in money. As long as we have a supply of money we will be all right. Other people place their trust in family or possessions. Others may place their trust in their careers and jobs. On the other hand, some place their trust in their beauty or their health. None of these aspects are sure!
